Winter Ice Wine Festival
How sweet it is! Ice wines, made from grapes that are naturally frozen on the vine, are intensely sweet dessert wines. Typically produced in cold regions like Germany and northern areas of the US such as New York and New England, they require a labor-intensive harvest, making the wines rare and costly.
Hopkins Vineyard in Warren has created its own versions of these rare treats, its traditional Ice Wine and Cabernet Franc Ice Wine and will present them during a cozy winter weekend festival, January 17th and 18th, from 11 to 5PM.
There will be ice wine tastings and education, fresh waffles served with ice wine syrup and live music both days—Akoustic Groove on Saturday and Lee-Ann Lovelace and George Lesiw on Sunday. Cousins Maine Lobster Truck will be onsite on Sunday.
Hopkins Vineyard is located at 25 Hopkins Road in Warren; 860-868-7954.
