Sweetheart Run

Romance can make the heart beat faster but so, arguably, can running for five miles. This year brings the 24th annual Bob & Peg Andrulis Sweetheart 5-mile Run and 3-mile Walk, to be held Saturday, February 14th, to benefit the Litchfield Community Center family and youth programming.

The race begins at the Litchfield Community Center, 421 Bantam Road, and is open to runners and walkers of all ages. It follows a scenic course with varied terrain along dirt and paved roads. T-shirts, goodie bags will be awarded.

The snow date is February 21st.

Following the race there will be refreshments and age group awards at the community center.

Fees for the five-mile run and the three-mile walk and run are $32.80 for adults, $11.60 for ages 1 to 10 and free for those aged 80 and older. All divisions begin at 11 AM.

Participants can register online or print the application and bring it with payment to the Community Center. Applications are also available at the center and last-minute registrations can be made the day of the race.

Registration fees rise to $35 after noon on February 12th.

The Litchfield Community Center is a non-profit organization serving Litchfield and the surrounding communities of Connecticut, offering daily creative, intellectual and recreational programs for all ages. Residents and non-residents are welcome to join.
