10X10 NEW PLAY FESTIVAL: SHORT BUT STELLAR
February 12th - March 5th, days and times vary
Barrington Stage Company’s 10x10 Festival returns for its 15th season with 100 minutes of dreams, drama and pure delight. These fast-moving plays—10 plays, each 10 minutes in length—will make you laugh, might make you cry and promise to make you think. The festival is the signature event of the 10x10 Upstreet Winter Arts Festival which brings more than 10,000 people to downtown Pittsfield for 10 days of eating, theater, music, dance, art and outdoor activities. $25 - $55.

A MIDWINTER’S NIGHT IN THE VILLAGE: LIBRARY FUNDRAISER
February 14th, Saturday, 6PM - 8PM
The Friends of The David M. Hunt Library in Falls Village will hold its annual winter fundraiser, A Midwinter’s Night in the Village, at the library this coming weekend—featuring the library’s famous 16-ft long bread board piled high with a variety of sweet dessert loaves, hearty savory breads, chocolate treats and other delights. For entertainment, a roster of local personalities will perform poems and songs focused on love with a dose of laughter thrown in for good measure! $20 Adults, $10 Children 3-17.

THE BIG CHILL: WEEKEND OF WINTER FUN
February 14th & 15th, Saturday & Sunday, 11AM - 3PM
Pull on your boots, grab your coat, hat and join a weekend of winter fun at Hancock Shaker Village. This iconic Berkshire winter event, also part of the 10x10 Upstreet Winter Arts Festival, perfectly encapsulates the joys of this snow-filled season. Activities include Village walks and talks, wood carving and maple tree tapping demonstrations. The Village will also be recognizing Shaker founder Anne Lee’s birthday with baking demonstrations in the kitchen of their historic Brick Dwelling. $15 Adults, Free for Members and children 12 & under. Tickets purchased upon arrival.

THE DARK: FEARLESS WINTER FESTIVAL
February 16th - 22nd, days and times vary
The Dark is a new annual festival from PS21: Center for Contemporary Performance that celebrates and elevates the depths of winter. The festival will unfold at PS21 and across Columbia County—in theaters, restaurants, libraries, saunas and outdoor public spaces. Featuring more than 60 international artists and over 80 performances, The Dark offers a packed week of world-class contemporary performances, installations, music, dance and theatre—all exploring winter as a time of community and solitude, fire and ice, darkness and light. Dark Festival Pass $400, tickets available for individual events.

CRAFTING HISTORY: PRINTMAKING
February 17th, Tuesday, 2PM - 3:30PM
The Gunn Museum and its in-house creative community space—Makerspace—are presenting a series of craft workshops inspired by artifacts from the Museum’s collections. This month’s workshop is all about printmaking! Learn about the history of printing, see examples of printing plates from the Museum’s collection, and experiment with monoprinting and intaglio printing as you make your own notecard set. Free.
