ANN LEARY BOOK SIGNING: “I’VE TRIED BEING NICE”
IN PERSON
June 15th, Saturday, 3PM
In her latest book I’ve Tried Being Nice Anne Leary, the New York Times bestselling author, offers a literary feast of humor and wisdom told from the perspective of a recovering people pleaser. With wit and surprising candor, Leary recounts the bedlam of home bat invasions, an obsession with online personality tests, and the mortification of taking ballroom dance lessons with her actor husband. She describes hilarious red-carpet fiascos and other observations from the sidelines of fame while also touching upon her more poignant struggles with alcoholism, her love for her family, her dogs, and more. Prepare to laugh, cry, cringe and revel in the comically relatable chaos of Ann Leary’s life as revealed in this delightful collection of essays. Free.

DANCE PARTY: NEON NASSAU
IN PERSON
June 15th, Saturday, 7PM - 12AM
In 1987 the hottest underground party in the otherwise tourist-swamped Bahamas was “Neon Nassau” at the quayside Sailors Social Club. Retired boat captains, off-duty lifeguards and suburban teens hiding away from their parents worked up a sweat to calypso, dancehall reggae, disco soca, freestyle, yacht rock and electro boogie. This Neon Nassau night is the first in a series of late-night, dress-up dance parties that the Wassaic Project Music Co-Directors, Tim 'Love' Lee and Scott Anderson, are throwing as The Capricorn Dream Sound Machine. They'll take you on a world tour of some of the most famous but entirely fictional hot spots from the last 100 years. For each event they will collaborate with Wassaic Project artists to help bring the dream alive! $28.
The Lantern. 10 Main Street. Wassaic NY. 855.927.7242.
