Wine & Spirits Fair

What can be cozier than a quiet dinner a deux in the quiet elegance of a vintage inn. Valentine’s Day is made for such moments and the Red Lion Inn is ready to supply the setting and the dinner for romantic couples this Friday with a prix fixe menu that features an alluring range of selections

And it will not let the moment pass quickly because the next day it will roll out its inaugural Wine and Spirits Fair featuring both local and international producers. The event will take place in the hotel’s Hitchcock Room Saturday, from 2-5PM.

Friday night’s prix fixe supper, priced at $65 with a wine pairing for $35, offers a three-course meals with such tantalizing entrees as bacon-broiled scallops Chablis, a winter burrata, or olive streusel; entrees are pan-seared red snapper or duck breast, or an 8-ounce filet mignon. For dessert there is a flourless chocolate torte for two.

On Saturday, the Wine & Spirits Fair, presented by the Red Lion and Nejaime’s Wine Cellar in the Hitchcock Room, includes light bites and tastings of more than 35 different types of wine and spirits. In addition to samples from the Red Lion Inn’s collection, tastes will be provided from vendors including M.S. Walker, Classic Wine Imports, Berkshire Mountain Distillers, Ideal Wine & Spirits, and the Oz Wine Company.

There will be a raffle with prizes such as magnums of wine, tours of Berkshire Mountain Distillery and a night at the Red Lion Inn, including dinner. Raffle tickets are not included in the $25 admission price.

All raffle proceeds go to the charity, Community Access to the Arts, CATA, which nurtures and celebrates the creativity of people with disabilities.
