The Show Must Go On

Sharon Playhouse will offer “a glittering virtual party” Saturday evening, January 23rd at 8PM. The Spotlight Gala will highlight the past, present and future performers of the playhouse, featuring appearances by Alison Arngrim, Kevin Bacon, Blair Brown, Jane Kaczmarek and Kyra Sedgwick.

Patrons can enjoy be performances by Playhouse alumni and Broadway performers, from the comfort of their homes, including pieces by Debbie Gravitte, Wanda Houston, Paul Kreppel, Amanda Lea LaVergne, Trevor Martin, Rex Smith, Haley Swindal and Nicholas Ward.

In an interview with Marshall Miles of Robin Hood Radio managing director, Robert Levinstein, and artistic director, Alan Wager, said the virtual party was developed because it is not possible to produce the traditional mainstage program. Instead, they engaged the performers to create videos that they could then edit to produce the gala.

The event will be preceded at 7PM by a live, virtual cocktail party which will provide playhouse management and performers with a chance to meet with the public, “cocktail in hand.”

Tickets are $25 per household and can be obtained at the link below.
