At Whiting Mills

Those looking for a unique gift for Christmas or Hannukah should put a visit to Whiting Mills on their calendar for this weekend. There during the semi-annual Open Studio event they will find a thriving artistic community of 56 artists, craftspeople, retail shops and small manufacturers.

The Open Studio event will take place from 10AM to 4PM both Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free and there is ample free parking. In addition to the resident artists there will be guest artists to meet and greet visitors and the I Know a Guy food truck will be on site.

Whiting Mills, which was voted the Best New England Artist Community by Yankee Magazine in 2016, has firmly established its reputation as a hive of artistic activity.

Established in 2004 in an historic mill located on the banks of the Whiting River, it is the brainchild of Eva and Jean Paul Blachere who have converted it into workspaces for artists and businesses.
