August 10th & September 14th, Wednesday, 7PM and September 16th, Friday, 2PM
Everybody says “don’t meet your heroes.” Well, Meredith Lustig says “do.” She met the legendary Stephen Sondheim on two separate occasions and would never want to change that. Her only regret is that she didn’t know at the time how deep was his gift for, and dedication to, letter writing. He wrote thousands of letters through the course of his life to so many people from all different walks of life. In To Sondheim, With Love, Lustig explores those writings, taking the audience through a musical correspondence with one of the greatest theatrical minds in history. Along the way she discovers the content of the letter she wishes she had written to the man who helped shape an entire generation of artists. $45.

CATIE MARRON: BECOMING A GARDENER
IN PERSON
August 13th, Saturday, 12 - 1PM
To make her new house in Connecticut truly feel like home, Catie Marron decided to create a garden. While she was familiar with landscape design, she had never actually grown anything. So she turned to her library of garden books to search for something more elusive than the basics of mulch or which plants work best in shade. She wanted to identify the core qualities and characteristics that make a person a gardener and an understanding of what a garden could mean. In Becoming a Gardner, Marron chronicles her transformation into a gardener with a delightful blend of informed opinion, personal reflection and practical advice. Enjoy this talk between Marron and Jeb Breece, co-founder of the Kent Flower Market, to discuss her journey and her book—a beautifully crafted love letter to gardens and gardening. Free.
