KEEP THE LIGHTS ON: DEWEY HALL GALA CONCERT
October 29th, Thursday, 7PM

Keep the Lights On Virtual Gala Concert will feature a performance by the great Wanda Houston Band, community testimonials and a few glimpses into the Hall’s storied past. The performance itself was filmed in advance in Dewey Hall, showing off exceptional acoustics of this storied venue. The gala also includes a number of other surprises! Free, donations encouraged.

TYPHOID MARY:
October 30th & 31st, Friday & Saturday, 7:30PM

This is the true and turbulent story of one of the most infamous women in America, Mary Mallon, better known as Typhoid Mary. As a cook she left deaths in her wake, unable to believe she was responsible as a carrier of Typhoid citing God’s will and the lies of science instead. Imprisoned on North Brother Island, the conflict with her doctors were as impassioned as they are today. The all-star cast led by Judith Ivey as Mary Mallon features Joe Morton (Scandal, Proof and The Good Wife) and T.R. Knight (Grey’s Anatomy). $25.

2020 BERKSHIRE EARTH EXPO: ACTION AND CONNECTION

Four five years the Berkshire Earth Expo has been a meeting place to learn about climate, energy and conservation-related topics, to celebrate nature’s beauty, to take action and to inspire each other. This year you can participate through a wide variety of exhibits and interactive programs on Berkshire Museum’s website as well as on the virtual Cooler Communities Action Platform. Tune in for a daily series of short films and DIY workshops. The Community Conversation on Environmental Justice is on the first day of the expo. Free.

FALL FRUIT: A TRIO OF SWEET & SAVORY AUTUMN DISHES

Join author and writer, Miriam Rubin, for a Zoom class as she demonstrates three fabulous uses for fall’s favorite tree fruits. In this online class you’ll learn how to make an Apple Galette with super-flaky Cheddar Crust, a sumptuous and simple-to-make Baked Pear with a Caramel sauce and a delectable Pear & Camembert Soup that will be a prime target for your Thanksgiving Menu. You can cook one or all of these items in your own kitchen along with Miriam, or focus on watching and cook the dishes later. $25.
