KEVIN JAMES: STAND-UP SET
September 19th, Thursday,

Kevin James, star and Executive Producer of The King of Queens, is coming to the Warner Theatre. His performance in the series earned him an Emmy nomination in 2006 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series but this night he is going back to his roots as a stand-up comedian. With the headline, “New show. New beard. Same IQ,” James shows his classic self-deprecating humor and it’s sure to be a side-splitting night of comedy. $25 - 75.

PETER BAKER: TRUMP, OBAMA AND THE MODERN WHITE HOUSE
September 20th, Friday, 7:30PM

Peter Baker, chief White House correspondent for The New York Times is coming to The Hotchkiss School to give a talk titled, “Trump, Obama and the Modern White House.” Mr. Baker’s expansive career in journalism has taken him from rebel-held northern Afghanistan after 9/11 to Moscow during Vladimir Putin’s rise to power. He is also the author of five books, most recently Impeachment: An American History and Obama: The Call of History which was a finalist for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work. Free.

SHAKER FOODWAYS: OLD-FASHIONED APPLE PIE

Travel back in time through your taste buds to experience the Shakers’ cuisine in this delicious and entertaining series. In this workshop you’ll learn the Shakers’ secrets to a good pie crust, test out their famous craftsmanship with your rolling pin and use village apples to make an apple pie. JULLIARD STRING QUARTET: BEETHOVEN AND KURTAG
September 22nd, Sunday, 3PM

Though most of the summer seasons have already had their finale performances, this weekend, Music Mountain will conclude their summer series with a special concert from the Julliard String Quartet. The program includes Kurtag’s “6 Moments Musicaux” and Beethoven’s "Quartets in F Major and C Sharp Minor". Founded in 1946 and hailed by The Boston Globe as “the most important American quartet in history”, JSQ has maintained its relevance with “robust and vigorous” performances with “many colors and moods” (The Strad). $60.
