BERKSHIRE PLAYWRIGHTS LAB: DELUSION BY PROXY
July 22nd, Monday 7:30PM

The Berkshire Playwright Lab’s annual Staged Reading series presents new plays, developed in an intense rehearsal process that provides playwrights an opportunity to work closely with a director and professional actors to refine their script through rehearsal, performance, and the post-reading audience talkback session. As an audience members you get to help Brooke Adams refine Delusion by Proxy, a black comedy about love and tyranny that addresses our collective anxieties about the fate of our society. The story, set in the near future, is about a family that has been torn apart by personal grievances—a metaphor for the oppressive violence of the world outside. $15

MOSTLY PLANTS: RECIPES FROM THE POLLAN FAMILY
July 23rd, Tuesday, 7 - 8PM

With just these seven words, “Eat food, not too much, mostly plants,” Michael Pollan, brother of Lori, Dana and Tracy Pollan and son of Corky, started a national conversation about how to eat for optimal health. Now, a decade later, the value of a plant-based diet is widely accepted, but lags behind in real American kitchens. Join Dana and Lori Pollan as they speak about their family’s new cookbook Mostly Plants: 101 Recipes from the Pollan Family—a collection of recipes from the whole Pollan family that can be adapted to all dietary needs, most of which can be on the table in 35 minutes or less! A wine and cheese reception will follow the talk and books will be available for sale and signing! Make sure to register in advance as there is limited availability. Free.
