Named after prominent revolutionary patriot and commander General Charles Lee, the town of Lee has been in existence since the 1760s. Several historic buildings are worthy of attention, including the Congregational Church, a Romanesque design building with a 150-foot steeple, and a Seth Thomas Clock.

Attractions

Appalachian Trail • Conceived by Benton MacKaye in 1921. the plan detailed a grand trail that would connect a series of farms and wilderness work/study camps for city-dwellers. The Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a marked hiking trail in the eastern United States extending between Springer Mountain in Georgia and Mount Katahdin in Maine and runs through the Berkshires.
